Met up with my old friends Mikey and Tara and their 2 lovely boys Blake and Mikey JR this evening, as they asked me to come along to their new Gerbola Circus and do some new up dated pictures for them. I got to know them both a good few years ago , and you could not meet a nicer couple, so humble and hard working and if I just had a ounce of their passion and commitment ,with my photography I would be “King of the Hill”.
Just to see what these people put into putting up and pulling down the Big Top is amazing , and their hard working preformers and assistants all chip in to making everything run smoothly. I witnessed tonight them in action, after putting 2 shows on today they straight away went into taking down the Circus tent, and in under a hour they were ready to pull out of Abbeyfeale.

I often wonder if the viewing customers understand the hard work that the circus people nowadays have to put up with.
Our lives are full of satelite television, internet and playstation games, so often we miss the old traditions of attending a live performance. Every day they put their lives at risk performing what are quiet dangerous acts, and yet day after day despite sometimes poor attendances they still move into a new town and go about setting up and put their heart and sole into every nights performance.
